A Christian wearing a beard

I have been repeatedly asked about my beard by people who have been taught that it is wrong for a man to have a beard so I thought to comment.

Maybe you might want to look at some photos of the founders of some of the modern Oneness organizations.

It has become a tradition to teach a lie that there is something wrong with having a beard. I do not teach that it is a sin for a man to shave (unless he did it for effeminate reasons).

A study of the Bible regarding beards and the Jewish history simply proves that the normal thing for a man is to have a beard.

We don't really think that the Jewish men including Jesus shaved their faces to look like the Romans, do we? We know from the scripture that Jesus Himself had a beard.

The more serious spiritual issue is actually not about beards, but rather about lying since if a preacher teaches that a beard is somehow unholy or sinful, that man is a liar and all liars will have their part in the lake of fire.

So really the issue is not beards, but about lying. Just look at the corruption and sin in the leadership of some of the biggest Oneness organizations. They have been measuring themselves by themselves for a long long time.

1 Chronicles 19:4 Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.

Men without beards in many cases were ASHAMED! That proves that beards were/are NORMAL for a MAN!

2 Samuel 10:5 When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

1 Chronicles 19:5 Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

Someone has been lying to someone about beards being unholy, and all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. If you reject a man because he has a beard, let me point out another that you also reject.

Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
